In recognition of persistent gaps in dermatologic training as it pertains to skin of colour, the 2024 Colloquium on the Black Patient in Dermatology discussed topics in dermatology specific to Black patients and recent progress on advancing the inclusion of diverse skin tones in research and medical education.
It featured the third Dr. Mercy Alexis Keynote lecture, presented by Dr. Susan C. Taylor, the Bernett Johnson Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, on the topic of “Mentorship in Dermatology.”
